While I am highly in favor of the Sam Worley property tax proposal, there is one important change that I believe should be made. The requirement that seniors must have lived in their home for 10 consecutive years will eliminate any savings for those seniors who have downsized from their original home to one less costly to maintain and heat/cool. In many cases, it really isn't a choice, but rather a necessity, as was the case my parents faced. In many instances, those who have been forced to downsized may well be the ones most in need of property tax relief. Please carefully consider incorporating such a change. Thank you.
