Please oppose the FUNDers Act- S.2376, and H.R. 4620. This is a thinly veiled attempt to discourage peaceful protesting across the US by allowing adding "rioting" to the list of RICO charges. While that sounds reasonable in essence, it is not in good faith. Our current administration has been lying constantly about public emergencies and what constitutes danger. The legal definition of a "riot" is simply the threat of property damage, which is so flimsy as to include sporting events, concerts, and street fairs in this act. This would also make it possible for more people to falsely file RICO cases for damages or injury resulting from events, again like a street fair or a football game, with a smaller burden of proof to claim large settlements. This is a large scale scamming potential. This is a waste of court time and resources. This is a waste of police resources. Do not pass it. Thank you.
