I’m writing to demand that Congress act immediately to shut down the dangerous and corrupt immigrant detention center known as 'Alligator Alcatraz' in Florida. This facility violates human rights, environmental laws, and public safety standards. It was built for profit, not for justice. I want you to call for an investigation, stop the funding, and shut it down. Immediately. My ancestors were murdered in Nazi Germany less than a century ago and now history repeats itself. People say they would do anything for their children but then turn their noses up at immigrants fleeing extremely dangerous countries to give their children better lives. How you proceed and how you treat these people will go down in history. The books are being written. Will you save innocent people, or are we going to look down at our country in the years to come at the disgraceful nature that took place? Attorneys aren’t able to access the concentration camp. They are begging people on social media to find a way to get in contact with them so that they can speak with their clients. The individuals who have NO CRIMINAL RECORD are in a tent with bright lights 24/7. It is extremely cold. They don’t even have a clock or access to outside. They don’t know what time it is or if it is day or night, they can’t contact lawyers or their loved ones. It is absolutely insane that you are allowing this. Like, talk about evil. PURE evil. To torture human beings. I hope and pray you do the right thing and shut this place and any other concentration camp down.
