Leadership in Congress

To: Sen. Gallego, Rep. Ansari, Sen. Kelly

From: A constituent in Phoenix, AZ

November 6

I am writing to express my concern with the continued leadership of Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer. I believe the Democratic Party needs new leadership that is more in touch with its voter base, communicates more effectively, and provides a clearer sense of direction for the party. There is a growing disconnect between party leadership and the people they represent. We need leaders who listen, understand the concerns of their constituents, communicate with conviction, and recognize when a change in leadership is necessary. Additionally, contrary to what Representative Jeffries has suggested, I absolutely do want accountability for Republicans who have broken the law. However, I want accountability, not revenge. There is an important distinction, and the pursuit of equal justice and the rule of law should never be characterized as political retaliation. I respectfully urge you not to support the continued leadership of Jeffries or Schumer.
