I am gravely concerned about what Donald Trump's administration means for the safety, dignity, and freedom of millions of Americans. In his previous term, we witnessed rhetoric and policies that targeted vulnerable communities and encouraged division. I worry that what begins as rhetoric or action against so-called "criminals" will not stop there. History has shown us how quickly authoritarian regimes escalate. I fear we are on a path that could lead to unjust detentions, mass deportations, and even the establishment of camps meant to silence or remove dissenter s, something that echoes the darkest chapters of global history. This is not hyperbole. When leaders encourage fear and dehumanize opponents, the foundation is laid for atrocities. We have a moral obligation to learn from history and act before it repeats itself. I urge you to stand up now, while we still can. Defend our institutions and protect those without a voice. Speak out for what is right, even when it’s difficult. Our democracy and the lives of many may depend on the actions taken in this moment. Thank you for your attention and for your public service.
