I’m writing tonight because I am very concerned about Trump’s comment he made today on a hot mic while talking to the president of El Salvador about “homegrowns are next.” It’s not okay that he is disappearing POC that he says are gang members without any due process. And now we’re finding out that upwards of 75% have no apparent criminal records. Experts have said that the gang members of tren de aragua do not have a specific tattoo associated with the gang. I want to be very clear that I am not okay with *anyone* being disappeared to a foreign prison, or anything that is even similar. And now Trump is saying that he will send “homegrowns” there? What exactly does that mean? I want specifics. Let me just quote Timothy Snyder here, “On the white house’s theory, if they abduct you, get you on a helicopter, get to international waters, shoot you in the head and drop your corpse into the ocean, that is legal because it is the conduct of foreign affairs. The entire practice of the holocaust of the Jews involved zones of statelessness. It is easier to move people away from law than it is to remove the law from people. Almost all of the killing took place in artificially created stateless zones. If we accept the idea that moving a person from one place to another undoes rights and disempowers the judiciary we are endorsing the basic Nazism practice that enabled the killing of millions.” Can you understand why I am upset? I am not interested in republican talking points right now. I don’t want you to try to gaslight me into believing that things are fine like this. You can save your breath because you’re not going to change my mind. I want President Trump impeached and put into federal prison for the rest of his life. I expect you to start the impeachment process today, right now! Your oath is to the constitution, your duty is to the constitution and your constituents. The time to act is now. Things have only been getting worse and worse since Trump was sworn into office again. You have been supporting and enabling him all along, this mess is all yours. Trump would not be a serious threat without all of the republicans in office supporting him. What can I say to convince you? The POC disappeared to CECOT in El Salvador *all* have heartbeats. They all have mothers. Some have wives and children. They have families. They have committed no crimes (but president trump was convicted of 34 felonies and of raping E. Jean Carroll), they aren’t violent, they aren’t gang members, they’re not terrorists. And all of the “homegrowns” are the same, we are all human beings. You have the power to end this nightmare, make it stop! This is not the country I was born and raised in. Trump is turning it into 1939 Germany. And you are letting him do it! Do you hate your constituents? It sure feels like it. I demand you do everything in your power to get Trump out of office and into prison. Now.
