The Trump administration's efforts to install Russ Vought as the head of the Office of Management and Budget is deeply concerning. As a proponent of extreme budget cuts and consolidation of executive authority, Vought's philosophy appears to have directly inspired the recent unlawful freeze on federal grant funding that would have devastated critical programs like Head Start and Meals on Wheels. His controversial views, including those expressed in the "Project 2025" writings he co-authored, position him as a threat to democratic norms and processes. By continuing to push Vought's nomination despite valid objections, the administration is signaling a disregard for Congressional oversight and the well-being of vulnerable Americans served by these grant programs. I urge you to reject Vought's nomination as he is clearly unfit to lead the OMB and safeguard the interests of the American people over rigid ideology.
