Don't change the name of Washington Dulles airport!

To: Sen. Graham, Rep. Norman, Sen. Scott

From: A constituent in York, SC

April 15

I am urging you to oppose H.R. 691, the bill to designate Washington Dulles International Airport as the "Donald J. Trump International Airport." This proposal is an unnecessary political gesture that serves no practical purpose beyond honoring a controversial former president. It would be an unwise use of government resources and create divisiveness rather than bringing people together. The airport's current name is well-established and changing it would cause confusion and incur costs for updating signage, publications, and records. Given the former president's divisive rhetoric and actions that undermined democratic norms, naming a major public facility after him would be seen by many as an affront. I encourage you to uphold principles of good governance, civility, and judicious use of taxpayer funds by voting against this ill-conceived bill.
