An Open Letter

To: Sen. Curtis, Sen. Lee, Rep. Kennedy

From: A constituent in Lehi, UT

January 28

I am writing to urge you to take immediate, visible action to restore public trust in our federal institutions. Recent events involving DHS and ICE have deeply shaken public confidence. When deadly force is used, investigations must be independent, transparent, and swift. Agencies cannot be allowed to police themselves, issue misleading public statements, or delay accountability. Congress must exercise strong oversight to ensure constitutional standards, human rights, and public safety are being upheld. At the same time, continued secrecy surrounding the Epstein files represents another profound failure of transparency. Years of delays, sealed records, and partial disclosures have eroded faith in our justice system. The American people deserve full truth and accountability, regardless of wealth, power, or political connections. This moment presents an opportunity for Congress to demonstrate real leadership by: • Demanding independent investigations and strict oversight of DHS and ICE • Releasing all relevant body-camera footage and operational records • Holding public hearings on federal law-enforcement accountability • Supporting full public release of the Epstein files and related records Now is the time to show the country that no agency and no individual is above the law. Transparency and accountability are the only paths toward restoring public trust, protecting democratic norms, and honoring the rule of law. Please act.
