The USDA has no reason to withdraw the rule regarding salmonella limits for poultry. We have had a couple of pretty severe national salmonella outbreaks in the last year, and increasing the allowed amount of salmonella could have disastrous consequences for our national health. You are currently allowing deregulation of things that have helped prevent deaths, both from short-term and long-term consequences. I do not want salmonella, and I want to be able to trust the food I buy in the grocery store. Intelligent government regulation is part of what turns a third world country into a first world country, and unintelligent deregulation can move things the other way. Please bring back the regulations that keep us safe.
