Please vote no on the SAVE Act, and implore your colleagues to do the same. All this bill does is disenfranchise large numbers of US citizens. It is a poll tax dressed up as protecting the vote. Women who took their husband’s name in marriage will have to go through hoops to prove they are who they are. People who can ill afford the fee for a passport will be left out of the fundamental right we all share as American citizens to elect our representatives. We have always enjoyed safe and secure elections in the past. This administration is trying to destroy our faith in the system as another means to stay in power by any means necessary.
