Please do whatever you can to make sure that Linda McMahon is not confirmed as the Secretary of Education! Every student deserves opportunity, resources, and support to reach their full potential no matter where they live, the color of their skin, or how much their family earns. Public schools exist in every state and district to provide that opportunity. Confirming Linda McMahon would bring significant harm to that goal. Linda McMahon’s top goal is a voucher scheme that redirects funds from public schools—which educate 90 percent of our students, including 95 percent of those with disabilities—to private and religious schools that are not accountable to the public. Vouchers weaken public education, especially in rural communities where public schools are the economic center. Linda McMahon is a billionaire with no significant background in public schools, nor any understanding of what it takes to help students thrive. She spent most of her career as CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, a company accused of shady business practices and abusive treatment of employees.
