Reject malicious anti-trans sports bills, protect LGBTQ rights
To: Rep. Huizenga
From: A constituent in Kalamazoo, MI
January 8
Proposed legislation like Texas' HB 28 targets transgender athletes in a discriminatory manner that denies their fundamental rights and humanity. This cruel effort to vilify and marginalize a vulnerable minority group is unacceptable. Numerous medical experts have confirmed that transgender women maintain no competitive advantage after undergoing hormone therapy. Banning them from women's sports teams through laws such as HB 28 is utterly unjustified. Furthermore, these types of laws cruelly single out and stigmatize transgender youth, putting them at heightened risk of depression, anxiety, and suicide. This socially destructive crusade against transgender Americans through measures like HB 28 must end immediately. I urge you to reject this malicious anti-trans sports bill and instead enact laws protecting LGBTQ citizens from discrimination. Transgender people deserve respect, dignity and equal treatment under the law.
