The situation in Gaza is catastrophic, with intense Israeli military operations leading to widespread displacement, destruction, and loss of civilian lives. A permanent and immediate ceasefire is imperative to halt the suffering and prevent further escalation of this humanitarian crisis. Israel must immediately end its disproportionate use of force against a besieged civilian population. The international community cannot stand by as homes are reduced to rubble and families are torn apart. All parties must work urgently towards a peaceful resolution that upholds the human rights and dignity of Palestinians. The status quo of recurring military assaults is unsustainable. A just and lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, an end to the illegal occupation, and self-determination for the Palestinian people.
