Investigate Elon Musk's communications with Vladimir Putin and prosecute any unlawful actions that follow from that investigation. Putin publicly stated this month that Russia is in "close contact" with Musk, calling him a "genius" while announcing Russia's effort to build a Starlink rival. That is not a casual compliment. It is a foreign adversary's president describing an ongoing coordination with a man who holds billions of dollars in federal contracts and controls the satellite network Ukraine depends on to survive. The timeline is damning. Musk and Putin have been in contact since at least 2021. Earlier this month, Musk throttled Ukraine's Starlink connection, degrading its ability to intercept Russian drones, then publicly admitted to it. Whether that decision was made independently or in coordination with Moscow is exactly the question that demands a formal answer. No private citizen with federal contracts should be running a back-channel with a country actively waging war against a U.S. ally. Launch a full investigation, follow the evidence wherever it leads, and bring charges if the law was broken.
