**Vote No on Additional ICE Funding**
Vote no on any additional funding for ICE. The agency is already tearing families apart at a pace that no oversight structure can keep up with — and the human cost is catastrophic. Mothers are being deported to Honduras without their children. An 11-year-old boy is stranded in Atlanta with a cousin while his mother, Claudia, was removed after being arrested for driving without a license. She spent 3.5 months in ICE detention and was put on a plane before anyone ensured her son could go with her.
This isn't an isolated case. At the airport in La Lima, Honduras, planes arrive daily carrying deportees who have no idea where their children are or how to get them back. A reception center run by Sister Idalina Bordignon is regularly overwhelmed with more than 100 exhausted, traumatized people at a time — parents asking desperate questions about their parental rights with no answers. More ICE funding means more of this.
As a mother, my heart breaks for these families. If we claim to care about children and American family values, we need to prove it with how we treat all families. The agency doesn't need more resources to separate families faster. It needs accountability, and Congress needs to stop writing it blank checks.
