Vote No on the SAVE America Act
To: Sen. Cornyn
From: A constituent in Denton, TX
March 11
Vote no on the SAVE America Act. This bill is a solution in search of a problem, built on unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud that state and federal officials and courts have repeatedly rejected.
Requiring proof of citizenship and photo ID for federal elections will make it harder for eligible voters to participate, not protect election integrity. Millions of Americans lack easy access to the documents this bill would mandate. The real-world effect is fewer people voting, particularly those who already face barriers to the ballot box.
Trump's demand to add sweeping restrictions on mail-in ballots makes this worse. Mail voting has been used safely for decades by military members, rural voters, and people with disabilities. Cutting access except for narrow exceptions means longer lines, more logistical challenges, and lower turnout.
The fact that Trump won't sign any other legislation until this passes shows this is about political leverage, not election security. With gas prices surging and real challenges facing families, holding the entire legislative agenda hostage for a bill based on false claims is reckless. Vote no.
