Corruption Is Not a Partisan Privilege: Investigate Miller-Meeks Now”

To: Sen. Ernst, Sen. Grassley, Rep. Nunn

From: A constituent in Des Moines, IA

October 22

I am writing as a concerned citizen to urge you to support a full investigation into allegations of corruption involving Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks. Regardless of party affiliation, public officials must be held to the highest ethical standards. I ask that you: 1. Call for a formal investigation by the appropriate oversight body into these allegations. 2. Issue a clear, public statement declaring that corruption is not a partisan issue and will not be tolerated among elected officials. 3. Make this statement without equivocation or partisan framing, affirming that integrity in government is a universal expectation, not a party talking point. Your silence on this issue—or failure to fully seek the truth—will only send the message that you are willing to tolerate corruption if it serves your party or your interests. That message would deepen public cynicism and further erode trust in government. Citizens deserve transparency and accountability from those who represent them. Anything less undermines public confidence and weakens our democracy. Please demonstrate leadership by reaffirming your commitment to ethical governance and equal accountability under the law.
