The wrongful deportation of Kilmar Ábrego García and the Trump administration's refusal to take concrete steps to facilitate his return as ordered by the Supreme Court is a serious breach of constitutional principles and human rights. By failing to act in good faith to comply with the Court's ruling, the administration is undermining the rule of law and the system of checks and balances fundamental to American democracy. Their defiance sets a dangerous precedent that jeopardizes the integrity of our judicial system. Ábrego García's continued imprisonment in a notorious Salvadoran prison, separated from his family in the U.S., is an unconscionable injustice that must be rectified immediately. The administration's obstruction and narrow interpretations of the order to "facilitate" his return are disingenuous and unacceptable. Concrete action to secure Ábrego García's release and return him to the U.S. as the Court directed is imperative to uphold the authority of the judiciary and respect for human rights.
