I watched what you did to Liz Oyer at the Blanche confirmation hearing. I'm ashamed you represent me.
She was a career pardon attorney. She refused to rubber-stamp restoring gun rights for a convicted domestic abuser because he had a personal relationship with the president. She held the line. Blanche fired her within hours and sent U.S. Marshals to her home to keep her from talking to Congress. That's not a policy disagreement. That's intimidation of a whistleblower.
So what did you do when she testified? You didn't ask her about the Marshals showing up at her door. You didn't ask her about Blanche's own contradicted testimony. You grilled her about death row clemency decisions she made under Biden, decisions that were within her job, to distract from the actual question in front of you: is Todd Blanche fit to run the Justice Department.
Senator Booker called it outrageous. He was right. Badgering a witness over things unrelated to the nominee's own conduct, while ignoring documented retaliation against a federal employee, isn't oversight. It's cover.
You took an oath to the Constitution, not to whoever the president wants confirmed. Protecting a nominee by discrediting the person who exposed his lies under oath is not rule of law. It's the opposite of it.
I expect a real answer, not a form letter, on why you chose to attack the witness instead of the nominee's record.
A constituent who is ashamed you represent me.
