While there is an ENDLESS list of issues that I’d like to address, today I’m writing to demand we reinstate USAID. Among the many reasons why it’s an important institution in being the diplomatic and humanitarian arm of the U.S., it also does incredibly useful work preventing the spread of disease by acknowledging an outbreak, localizing it and treating it; bird flu, Ebola etc. For the health and safety of American citizens and maintaining healthy relationships with our allies, USAID must be reinstated, work allowed to continue and employees restored to their positions.
