2. Letter

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and concern regarding your recent conduct during the Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The manner in which you and President Trump addressed President Zelenskyy was not only disrespectful but also undermines the United States’ longstanding commitment to supporting sovereign nations in their fight against aggression. Your accusations towards President Zelenskyy, suggesting a lack of gratitude and respect, were both unfounded and unbecoming of your office. Such behavior not only embarrasses our nation on the global stage but also sends a troubling message to our allies and adversaries alike. For over three years, President Zelenskyy has demonstrated unwavering courage and resilience in the face of Russian aggression. His leadership has been instrumental in rallying international support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and democratic values. To belittle and berate him during a diplomatic engagement is a betrayal of the principles we, as a nation, have pledged to uphold. Furthermore, your alignment with narratives that echo Russian propaganda is deeply concerning. It raises questions about the current administration’s commitment to supporting democracies under threat and maintaining the integrity of our foreign policy. I urge you to reflect on the implications of your actions and to reaffirm the United States’ support for Ukraine. It is imperative that we stand unequivocally with nations that share our democratic values and are confronting authoritarian aggression.
