An Open Letter

To: Rep. Franklin, Sen. Simon

From: A constituent in Tallahassee, FL

March 26

I am a mom of teens and an attorney with extensive experience with dependency work. We do not need to be removing limitations on child labor. We knew that cracking down on immigration would leave some industries hurting for employees. The answer is not our children. Overnight work for children as young as 14?!? On school nights?!? What is wrong with this state? Children need sleep. They need time for their studies. They need time to socialize. We need to be responsible and ensure they have that. The answer for companies who need to find employees is to pay better wages, not to target our children.
