BROUGHT TO YOU BY GOP DERELICTION

While we all wait to see if the power behind the throne is really a 35-year-old woman with questionable motives and access to posting the most objectionable things under the banner of the presidency, do we think there might be a few things we can still agree on as Americans? Can we agree it’s really degrading and sordid to be governed in this way? To have the highest office in the land used as a vehicle for glorification of someone who would post material depicting a former president as an ape? Who would post material depicting himself as a fighter pilot dropping poop on No Kings protesters? Protestors who are his fellow Americans regardless, on whose behalf he’s supposed to be governing? Don’t we agree that a certain level of decency should be a presidential trait? That the words and actions of a president that can move public sentiment and affect the entire world should be chosen cognizant of that power? Instead Trump and MAGA really think that they have this boundless power to humiliate anyone who dares to criticize them. Or really anyone who dares to tell the truth about them. They think they have this limitless ability to control the information space. And so to them, they can just simply demolish anyone who talks about, for instance Natalie Harp, and leave them in smoking ruins or whatever. But the current problem for that strategy is that the Natalie Harp story has revealed highly unnerving truths about the president’s temperament and total unfitness to be president. And once the story gets onto that topic, their power to convince shrivels. Leaving us looking at a very disturbing relationship sitting in the Oval. And what we’re seeing is a picture of a WH run poorly. A president with no self-restraint. With terrible instincts about what’s in the best interest of the country. We have also seen Ms. Harp being rescued from what the president considered to be an Air Force One at possible risk. Rescued over the secretary of state and other Cabinet officers who are in the presidential line of succession. That was dangerously incompetent judgement. Why? Meanwhile, back in the land of election interference..the USPS on Friday night issued this directive regarding mail-in ballots…”Although ballot mail does not present precisely the same operational issues as cremated remains or replica explosives, it is unquestionably sensitive mail that raises unique operational considerations."   Yes. A mail-in ballot is to be considered to have the same mailing risk factors as a bomb and/or cremated remains. P.S. A mail-in ballot does not pose a health risk. It will not cause panic if exposed to the public. It's a piece of paper marked with a pen that is only dangerous to authoritarians wishing to rule rather than govern with the consent of their citizens.   Ballots do not raise "unique operational considerations.” Unless you are aiming to limit voting and undermine democracy.   Yet, equating mail-in ballots to human remains and fake explosives is part of the rationale the USPS offered to justify Donald Trump's unconstitutional executive order interfering with mail-in voting. It is how they are currently trying to get around the obvious fact that Congress has not given the USPS or the president authority to do what they're attempting here: render unmailable any ballots Trump disapproves of.   The new Friday night rule was whipped up to effectuate Trump's March executive order, which restricts mail voting. AND creates a new federal voter database.   Under this new rule, the USPS will only send mail ballots to voters included on a state list. If voters aren't on the lists, they will not receive a ballot. Stay awake y’all. None of this is right.
