Vote No on the Save Act: It is Unconstitutional

To: Sen. Young, Sen. Banks, Rep. Messmer

From: A verified voter in Mount Vernon, IN

March 23

Do NOT pass the SAVE Act. It is already illegal for non-citizens to vote. We don't need more regulations & more government to ensure this. Elections need to stay under the State as written by the Constitution. Requiring birth certificates and passports is a poll tax and makes it more difficult for many Americans to be able to vote - women who change their last names when the get married, lower income Americans who may not have access to their birth certificate or do not have or cannot afford a passport, and other Americans who may have changed their name for other reasons. Despite the push by certain representatives and senators, most Americans are NOT in favor of the SAVE Act. The president is clearly in favor of it and that’s why some want Americans to also blindly be in favor of it. The executive branch needs to stay out of our elections process. If his administration’s policies and actions were popular, they wouldn’t have anything to worry about and wouldn’t be pushing the SAVE Act.
