Leanne and John - (pardon the resistbot form!!) I’m writing as a constituent and public school educator to express my strong support for House Bill 1500, which would increase Pennsylvania’s basic education funding to meet the constitutional mandate for a “thorough and efficient system of public education.” This bill reflects the recommendations of the bipartisan Basic Education Funding Commission and is a necessary step toward fair, adequate, and equitable school funding across the Commonwealth. In districts like William Penn, where I proudly serve, and the Penn-Delco School District, where I proudly live, chronic underfunding has led to heartbreaking budget cuts that threaten to eliminate arts, athletics, mental health supports, and more. Our students—especially those in historically underfunded and high-need communities—deserve better. HB1500 offers a responsible and overdue solution. I urge you to support this bill and help ensure every child in Pennsylvania, regardless of zip code, has access to quality education and opportunity.
