UAE ARMS EMBARGO NOW

To: Sen. Hickenlooper, Rep. Evans, Sen. Bennet

From: A constituent in Thornton, CO

June 25

As a constituent, I am emailing to urge you to act now to address the genocide in Sudan. I'm asking you to support and co-sponsor House Resolution 2059 and Senate Bill 935, legislation to ban U.S. arms sales to the United Arab Emirates until it stops supporting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in Sudan. Since April 2023, the RSF has carried out mass killings, ethnic cleansing, and widespread sexual violence. This is an active genocide against Sudanese people. The UAE is providing the weapons, funding, and operational coordination that are enabling these atrocities. The U.S. has an obligation under both US law and international law to stop sending arms to the government fueling this violence. A UAE Arms Embargo is the critical step needed to end U.S. complicity and protect civilians in Sudan. Thank you very much. Finally, would you please share with me the name and email of the best staffer to contact on Sudan-related issues? This will likely be the staff member with the foreign affairs portfolio. https://decolonizesudan.org/uaearmsembargo
