As your constituent, I am outraged that you would threaten Americans with a government shutdown on the whim of an unelected billionaire who doesn't believe bipartisanship is important. You've been in the House of Representatives long enough to know compromise is necessary to governing. You should be doing everything you can to avoid a shutdown, particularly right before the holidays. The notion that bills requiring Democrat votes to pass must not address Democrat concerns is absurd on its face. Should this stalemate continue and result in a harmful government shutdown, the blame will rest squarely with Republicans. Elon Musk clearly doesn't know how government works, and neither does the president elect, but you certainly do, or should. Start governing and stop posturing.
