It’s very clear that weather models are having very degraded performance this year compared to others. This is the worse year. Why? The lack of morning weather balloons in much of the Central and parts of the western U.S is a HUGE factor to lower-confidence and bad forecasts and bad modeling. All caused by a stupid and irresponsible decision within our government to cut funding and staff to the National Weather Service last year. Congress must fix this ASAP.
