I’m writing to call out the blatant dishonesty behind your messaging. There is no such thing as a “Schumer Shutdown.” Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House — you have full power to write, debate, and pass a budget. If you can’t get that done, that failure is entirely on your party.
Calling this the “Schumer Shutdown” is an insult to the intelligence of the American people. You’ve had months to produce a real, balanced budget and have instead chosen to recycle the same continuing resolutions you claim to hate. You refuse to negotiate, you refuse to lead, and you’d rather blame Democrats than take responsibility for your own inaction.
Meanwhile, millions of families are living paycheck to paycheck while YOU play political games. YOU find billions to bail out Argentinia and rescue Bessent’s business partners and donors, but somehow can’t afford to insure health care for 20 million Americans or keep rural hospitals open. That’s not fiscal responsibility — that’s moral bankruptcy.
This shutdown didn’t happen because of Democrats. It happened because Republican leadership refuses to govern. You’d rather spend time posting culture war nonsense online than doing your job: funding the government and protecting the people you represent.
Stop lying to West Virginians. Stop using working families as hostages for your political theater. Pass a real budget — one that prioritizes health care, infrastructure, education, and rural services — not billionaire bailouts.
If you can’t do that, we’ll find leaders who will. The people are awake, and we’re done being fooled.
