I’m urging you to keep IPERS strong and secure. It’s a promise to the public servants who dedicate their careers to Iowa’s communities. Weakening it would break trust and harm teacher retention. Teachers also need to be paid on a fair, transparent salary scale—not a performance scale. Education is a team effort, and performance-based pay ignores the realities of diverse classrooms and drives great educators away. Strong IPERS and fair pay help keep excellent teachers in Iowa classrooms. Please stand with educators and protect both.
