An Open Letter

November 21

I received your response today regarding the Constitutional Carry Reciprocity Act, and again, I am disappointed but not at all surprised. The gun lobby lives! Your argument that crossing state lines shouldn’t affect people’s rights seemingly only applies to the rights you agree with. The right to a woman’s bodily autonomy certainly stops at state lines, but you don’t have a problem with that. The fact is, gun deaths are preventable and the answer is not more guns on the street, in church, in the grocery store, in schools and in traffic. Everyone thinks they're the "good guy with the gun" until they feel the least bit threatened and start shooting. A misperception of a threat can be deadly. Instead of preventing gun deaths, this will increase them. Shame on you.
