Tulsi Gabbard's concerning ties to Russia and defense of the Putin regime are deeply alarming for someone being considered for Director of National Intelligence. Her history of echoing Kremlin propaganda, denying Assad's war crimes in Syria, and spreading conspiracy theories about Ukraine's involvement in Russia's illegal invasion raise serious doubts about her ability to objectively analyze threats and guide our national security. Her contrarian views seem motivated more by isolationism than facts, putting her at odds with US intelligence assessments. Gabbard's potential appointment risks straining vital intelligence-sharing with allies who would question her judgment and vulnerability to disinformation. For the DNI role overseeing 18 agencies, we need someone with extensive strategic experience objectively evaluating global threats, not an apologist for hostile autocracies. I urge reconsideration of this concerning nomination that could undermine national security.
