ICE’s enforcement model relies on detention, raids, and intimidation that violate civil and human rights while failing to improve public safety. Continued DHS funding entrenches mass detention, surveillance, and family separation without meaningful oversight or accountability.
Federal resources should not bankroll harm. Public safety is better served by due process, fair immigration courts, legal counsel, and community-based alternatives that keep families together and respect constitutional rights. These approaches are more effective, less costly, and aligned with American values.
I urge you to oppose DHS appropriations that fund ICE’s coercive practices and to support legislation that dismantles this system and redirects resources toward humane, transparent, and rights-respecting solutions.
End the cycle of fear. Abolish ICE. Do not pass DHS appropriations.
