Reject anti-vaccine Kennedy's nomination for health secretary
To: Sen. McConnell, Sen. Paul

November 15
I understand the deep concerns around nominating Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services. His long history of promoting misinformation about vaccine safety and opposing basic public health measures is extremely troubling. Putting someone with these views in charge of agencies like the CDC, FDA, and NIH risks undermining confidence in vital healthcare programs and jeopardizing the health of all Americans. I urge you to reject this nomination and instead appoint qualified professionals committed to following scientific evidence and expert consensus on public health issues. The head of HHS must be someone who will defend proven measures like childhood immunizations, uphold food and drug safety standards, and strengthen social safety net programs like Medicare and Medicaid. An anti-vaccine activist with a track record of spreading disinformation is the opposite of what we need leading this crucial department during ongoing public health challenges. Please put the wellbeing of the American people first and reconsider this ill-advised nomination that could have severe real-world consequences.
