Unmask ICE officers

To: Rep. Van Duyne, Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

July 27

I’m alarmed by the rise in masked, unidentified law enforcement officers operating in our communities, often in coordination with ICE and DHS. These tactics, reminiscent of past authoritarian regimes, are being used to disappear students/researchers, intimidate immigrants, and silence dissent. Those abducted are not allowed due process, making it impossible to prove their immigration status or citizenship. They are placed in overcrowded concentration camps without being criminally charged with any crime. You have the legislative power to stop this. I urge you to: Publicly support legislation banning masked law enforcement during public operations. Requiring all state and local law enforcement to display visible identification during enforcement actions and to refuse collaboration with federal agencies engaging in secretive immigration raids. Demand those persons abducted be afforded due process Condemn politically-motivated ICE activity. This is about protecting civil liberties and stopping authoritarian overreach in our own state. Please act decisively to do so.
