Senator McConnell needs to provide a real, substantive health update to the people of Kentucky — not a staged photo of him holding a newspaper. He was found unconscious at his Washington residence on June 14. His office then went nearly a month without issuing any statement. That silence is not acceptable for someone holding a U.S. Senate seat. Governor Andy Beshear revealed on July 15 that he received calls from unnamed agencies suggesting McConnell had died. That's how bad the information vacuum has gotten. A photo cleared by forensic analysts doesn't answer basic questions about his capacity to serve. Kentucky deserves to know whether their senator can do his job. Demand that his office release a comprehensive medical update immediately.
