Reject HR 1526
To: Sen. Lieber
From: A constituent in Portland, OR
April 16
The proposed NORRA of 2025 severely limits the ability of federal district courts to issue injunctive relief, a crucial check on executive power. This threatens the constitutional separation of powers and undermines judicial oversight. While a narrow exception exists for multi-state cases, the process is overly convoluted and still obstructs the courts' role. Curtailing injunctive powers removes an essential protection against executive overreach and unchecked authority. I urge you to reject this legislation, which jeopardizes our democratic system of checks and balances. Defend the judiciary's vital function as a co-equal branch empowered to restrain unconstitutional actions by the other branches.
