How many ways are you going to allow him to destroy the American people? He tried starving us, he's taking away our access to affordable healthcare, now he's taking away our solutions for homelessness? When will Congress show some conscience or empathy? Are you all so removed from the struggles of daily life that you truly imagine homeless people deserve to freeze to death on the streets for lack of shelter? Do you believe hungry children don't deserve to eat, or the elderly who can't work and don't have adequate social security shouldn't get help finding food? Do you think low income families should have to let their children die because they can't afford medical care that otherwise would be available to someone with more money? What is wrong with Congress? I feel like I should have some say on what my tax dollars go to, and I would far rather keep homeless people housed and fed than fund the demolition the east wing of the White House to build a gilt-covered monument to his ego. A society that stops caring for its weakest members inevitably withers and falls. I call on Congress to restore the long-term housing funds Trump has just cut, to renew the ACA subsidies, and to stop letting him destroy our society from the bottom up.
