Unilaterally attacking another nation without provocation is a violation of international law. Doing so without notifying Congress or the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services makes a mockery of our government. The guardrails have been sold for scrap and Trump, who ran on “no new wars”, has pocketed the money. While Trump is using the excuse that Maduro was a dictator as rationale for the invasion, he is now ignoring the Venezuelan opposition party and declaring the US will “run Venezuela”. This is annexation and conquest of a sovereign nation. Speak up for your constituents like me. Speak up for your office. Speak up for your nation. Protest this military action, demand answers, and hold Trump and his inner circle accountable.
