I have been wondering what it takes for you to show concern about killings associated with ICE activities in the state. I know that the GOP administration has been quick to label the persons killed malcontents or subversives. Kristi Noem, in particular, has been quick to condemn the victims without seeking the truth of these murders from countless eyewitness/video accounts later provided to authorities. In the case of Alex Pretti, he had a license to carry a concealed weapon, had been disarmed by an officer and then was executed while countless people watched. This was after he tried to protect a fellow protester. As a retired nurse, I understand his care for his fellow citizen. As a human being, I don’t understand an administration that supports violence against its citizens. I know you believe in the rule of law, but I wonder if you endorse the “shoot first” approach of ICE in our state. As much as you and the GOP can’t admit it, the Obama administration deported more undocumented immigrants than Trump has in his 5 years of flogging this issue, and did so without drama and chaos. It is time for you to represent the truth. It is time for you to work to remove ICE & DHS operations from our state. Please don’t send me one of your “I’m working for you” responses. This is a serious issue that demands some courage from those elected to represent us.
