Protect USPS universal service for rural Alaska communities

The United States Postal Service plays a crucial role in delivering essential items like online purchases, prescriptions, checks, and mail-in ballots to all Americans, including those in rural and remote areas like Alaska that may be unprofitable for private companies to serve. Efforts to dismantle the Postal Service's governing board or privatize the agency could jeopardize its mandate for universal service and significantly disrupt deliveries for Alaskans who have no alternative shipping options. The Postal Service should maintain its independent structure and universal service commitment to ensure reliable mail service continues for all communities in Alaska.
