Reject the SAVE Act, protect voter rights and access
To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz
From: A constituent in Cypress, TX
April 15
The SAVE Act goes too far in restricting the fundamental right to vote for eligible citizens. While ensuring election integrity is important, requiring strict documentary proof of citizenship creates unnecessary barriers that disproportionately impact marginalized communities. This restrictive approach risks disenfranchising many legitimate voters who may not have ready access to certain documents. Instead of erecting hurdles, we should focus on expanding voter access and participation in our democracy. There are better ways to maintain secure elections without undermining the ability of eligible citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote. I urge you to reject this bill and explore more balanced solutions that protect both voting rights and election security. Our democracy is strongest when more voices are heard, not fewer.
