Demand a Strong Deal to End the Government Shutdown
To: Sen. Fetterman
From: A verified voter in Honesdale, PA
November 10, 2025
I’m writing to express my deep outrage that Senator Fetterman voted Yes on a weak budget deal that does nothing to fix our health costs and caves to an untrustworthy authoritarian regime. In my mind, there’s absolutely no reason why he should capitulate to this regime and drive up healthcare costs to unsustainable numbers.
As someone who has gotten a lot of use from his government-sponsored health insurance, this should be the hard line for him. I understand that people not getting paid or not getting their benefits is a concern, but those are things that community and local government can help cover in the meantime. Voting Yes on this issue makes their sacrifice, and the efforts of the state and local governments, as well as the hard work and care provided by your constituents within their communities, completely pointless. Tuesday’s elections showed us that the people want to fight again the Republican agenda, who have already proven they will in no way keep their promises tied to your vote. People will still go unpaid, SNAP benefits will still struggle AND then will be without healthcare. People will die unnecessarily because of this. I’m begging Senator Fetterman to be the person we elected to be, to listen to what your constituents are saying, and fight FOR us instead of against us.
If Senator Fetterman is uninterested in fighting for us, I will use my power as a voter to support a legislator who will.
