Reject Vought Nomination, Uphold Transparency and Fiscal Responsibility
To: Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted
From: A constituent in Concord Township, OH
February 6
As members of Congress, it is crucial to uphold the principles of transparency and accountability in government. Russell Vought's nomination to lead the Office of Management and Budget raises significant concerns about his commitment to these values. His belief that all executive power rests solely with the president threatens the system of checks and balances that is a cornerstone of our democracy. We cannot afford to have an OMB director who would enable unchecked executive overreach and corruption. Furthermore, Vought's past association with the so-called "Department of Government Efficiency" and its reckless pursuit of budget cuts without regard for the real-world consequences is alarming. Essential services like rural healthcare and infrastructure development would be jeopardized under his leadership. We must prioritize the well-being of the American people over ill-advised austerity measures. Confirming Russell Vought as OMB director would undermine the integrity of our government institutions and put the interests of the few above the needs of the many. I urge you to reject this nomination and instead support a candidate who will uphold the principles of good governance, fiscal responsibility, and a commitment to serving all Americans.
