I am concerned with recent events in our country.
First, ICE needs to be abolished. They’ve always been notorious for brutal and undisciplined behavior, but that has escalated this week to an unacceptable and terrifying level. Our rights are being trampled and people are being killed. Congress must get rid of ICE and replace it with an agency structured around lawful and non-political enforcement of the country’s immigration laws.
Second, I expect you to pass a War Powers resolution to stop Trump’s war on Venezuela—or any other country. We went to war in Vietnam for oil and we should not do it again! This administration is failing to help Americans in any way. The idea that they are capable of running another country when they can’t even run ours is insane.
Finally, Donald Trump and his entire administration need to be impeached and removed. They’re endangering our democracy, encouraging violence on civilians, flouting the Constitution, and demeaning the stature of the United States in the world.
