There needs to be substantial restrictions on water usage in Colorado and any surrounding states that depend on Colorado water. I am a full time resident of Summit County and I am deeply concerned that measures to protect water, combat drought, and prevent catastrophic fires are not getting enough money and are not reacting strongly and quickly enough. We are all at severe risk of losing our homes, something that nobody should have to face. I know we have problems on every level of this country, but if we die of thirst and fire, there will be nothing left to fight for at all. I increasingly believe I will not be privileged to live out my natural age these days and the mega drought we face in Colorado is a large part of why. As a result, Colorado also needs to take an even stronger stance on shutting down AI data centers that rely on water coolant. While I am no scientist, I don't think it's a coincidence that we suddenly are experiencing the worst winter on record when there are more AI data centers than there have ever been before. Many of us, myself included, also don't have the financial luxury to move away. I own my condo, the only home I have, but I am incapable of selling it due to the bizarre housing market challenges. So I am stuck, not able to leave, also afraid to stay. Yes, I have an evacuation plan and strategy. This should also not be necessary in this day and age! How can we still be going to war and wasting our precious hard earned money while we ignore the fact that we are also killing the earth which will in turn kill us??? This is madness and more must be done! People are going to lose their homes this year. Money must be spent on real, science-backed climate change programs and technologies, not war or lining pockets of the wealthy and greedy.
