Vote no on Budget Reconciliation

To: Sen. Rounds, Sen. Thune, Rep. Johnson

From: A constituent in Spearfish, SD

June 5

I am writing to encourage you to vote against this budget bill. It's wrong to cut medicaid and it's wrong to give more tax breaks to the wealthy top 10% who already have 87.5% of all the wealth. You're gutting the middle class. Since 1980, some $40 trillion has flowed upwards to the top 1%. It's not surprising that that also correlated to our national debt. Tax cuts for your bosses has left the debt with the American people and our children and grandchildren. The bottom 90% of Americans own in total ~$25 trillion of the $200 trillion the US economy is worth. If we in the bottom 90% sold everything we own, we couldn't pay off that debt. We'd still owe about $11 trillion. The wealthy 10% (mostly the top 1%) own the other $175 trillion of the US value. If they paid off the national debt, they'd still own $140 trillion. If you want to pay off the debt, you have no choice but to take it from the people who actually have the money. YOU MUST INCREASEA TAXES ON THE WEALTHY. As a side note, these ridiculous proposed tariffs aren't going to solve this. Despite the continued lie that China is going to pay these tariffs, it's the American consumer that this import tax. We can't afford more tax - your bosses can.
