It’s time to simplify taxes. Why do we need to file income taxes?The IRS receives all of the information about my income. There’s no good reason why the IRS can’t simply do the calculations and send me a bill. What about deductions? Get rid of them!! Make it easy. Make the standard deduction a little higher and stop the nonsense. We can look to Europe as a model. There is no reason to make Americans spend so much time and money only to pay taxes. We should stop funding the tax preparation industry. Yes, they will fight simplification but it is the right thing to do. Enough already.
