Sexual misconduct allegations against Trump demand accountability, transparency
To: Sen. Merkley, Sen. Wyden

The allegations of sexual misconduct against Donald Trump, spanning several decades, paint a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior towards women even as he is now president-elect. From forcibly kissing and groping to more serious allegations of sexual assault, the sheer number of accounts is deeply concerning. Trump has consistently denied all claims, but the corroborating details and credible testimony from many of the accusers demand that these allegations be taken seriously. Dismissing or normalizing such conduct from the president-elect sets a dangerous precedent and undermines efforts to combat sexual violence and harassment. Regardless of political affiliation, it is crucial that we hold our highest leader accountable and reject attempts to excuse unacceptable behavior. The American people deserve full transparency and a president committed to upholding the dignity and respect owed to every individual.
